Soybean meal

Soybean meal is the most important input of meat production in Iran and many other countries. This product, which is extracted from soybeans, forms a major part of poultry feed in the country along with corn. At the same time, despite the great importance of the meal in the provision of poultry and livestock feed, the country is highly dependent on imports of soybean meal and grains, which is a major disadvantage in this regard.

In 2018, Argentina gained the second and third place in the world by exporting 31 million tonnes, the largest exporting country of soybean meal, followed by Brazil with 15 million tonnes.

Studies show that soybean meal ranked seventh in the country in 1397. 1.4 million tonnes of soybean meal has been imported, an increase of 12% compared to 1396

According to available statistics, the country’s annual need for food is about 2 million tonnes, mainly through imports. Behshahr Industrial Company has imported about 309,000 tons of meal in the last three years and in the year 1397 the market share was 6.8%.
